    Who can get a photoshoot?

    Any person who wants photos of the costume he/she is wearing (also called “cosplayers”) can book a photoshoot with me!

    Everyone is treated equally, regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, costume, the number of likes/followers on Instagram / TikTok / etc., his/her popularity on social media and any other physical or social media trait.

    How are the photoshoot slots assigned?

    It is on a “first come, first served” basis. All requests are treated in the order they are submitted.

    How much does a photoshoot cost?

    It is free!

    What can I wear for the photoshoot?

    You must be wearing a cosplay, which means a costume that represents a character, regardless of the complexity of what you are wearing, with some exceptions.

    Boudoir or lingerie cosplays (ex: wearing underwear only + a wig) are not accepted. Nudity photoshoots are also not accepted.

    Wearing everyday clothes only that do not represent a character is also not accepted.

    When booking a photoshoots, you are expected to tell which cosplay(s) you will be wearing.

    Where are the photoshoots available?

    Photoshoots are available during public events (conventions) with cosplayers where I am present. These events are those in Montreal and Quebec City.

    I currently do not offer out-of-convention photoshoots to the public.

    How long does the photoshoot take?

    Every photoshoot has a maximum of 30 minutes for its time slot, which includes:

    • moving from the rendezvous point to the photoshoot location;
    • taking the photos;

    Do you allow cosplay groups in a photoshoot?

    Yes, with the condition that the cosplays for all group members must come from the save universe. Please take note that group photoshoots also last 30 minutes and are treated like all other photoshoots.

    If your group contains cosplays from different universes, you must book 1 photoshoot per universe. It is like this to make sure that the photoshoot’s location fits all cosplays and also to prevent changing locations in a single photoshoot.

    Which items do you use in a photoshoot?

    My camera (Canon EOS Rebel T100 with a 18-55 mm lens). The full specs are here: https://www.canon.ca/en/product?name=EOS_Rebel_T100&category=/en/products/Cameras/DSLR-Cameras/Entry-level#specifications

    What is the resolution of the photos?

    The resolution is 18M megapixels, which is a lot!

    How do I book a photoshoot?

    • Wait for the photoshoot schedule to be published on my cosplay page.
    • Send a private message to my Facebook or Instagram page including the following info:
      • the time slot you have chosen;
      • the cosplay(s) the people present will be wearing;
      • a cellphone number to text you if needed. Contacting with Facebook messages is also possible if you have wi-fi and/or data options at the event.
    • Wait for a confirmation message from my side.
    • We can then agree on some details:
      • where to meet for a rendezvous point;
      • what kind of photoshoot do you want (style, poses, location ideas, etc.);
      • the location of the shoot.

    What rendezvous locations are available?

    Here are some examples of possible locations for events at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal.

    • Info booth of the Viger hall.
    • In the Viger garden (outside the Viger hall and the convention center).
    • At the 1st level of the convention center, near the Place-d’Armes metro station and close to the Couche-Tard.
    • At the Jean-Paul Riopelle Place.

    For events not at Palais des Congrès de Montréal or if these previous locations do not suit you, we can then agree on another location.

    Which photoshoot locations are available?

    Locations within a 0-15 minutes walking distance from the event are possible. This is for you not spending a lot of time moving with your cosplay, for you to enjoy the event and for me to come back in time at the event for other photoshoots.

    What type of photoshoot you don’t do?

    I do not offer boudoir, nude or pornographic photoshoots.

    Can my photoshoot request be refused?

    Yes, in the following situations:

    • the slot you are requested has also been taken by someone (the posts text with the published schedule contain the remaining slots remaining). You can book another available slot;
    • you have refused the terms and conditions of this document;
    • you are in a blacklist (see below for more details);

    Can my photoshoot be cancelled?

    Yes, in the following situations:

    • you can no longer be present at the photoshoot. In this case, send me a message as soon as possible to cancel the photoshoot. Avoid “ghosting” at all costs!
    • the convention where the photoshoot was planned for was cancelled or postponed (in this case, the photoshoot is cancelled). I will contact you if this happens.
    • after booking the photoshoot, you are making a change that is incompatible with the terms and conditions. We will discuss in this case.

    Is there a blacklist of people that cannot book a photoshoot?

    Yes. Unfortunately, in the case of unacceptable behavior from cosplayers in a photoshoot, these people are put into a blacklist and can no longer book a photoshoot.

    Here are examples of unacceptable behavior:

    • not informing the photographer of his/her absence before the photoshoot begins (also called “ghosting”);
    • insult or not respect the photographer or his/her subjects during the photoshoot.

    The list exists in order to ensure that its members do not take a slot in the schedule for nice and fine people that would like a photoshoot, especially for conventions in high demand where photoshoots are quickly taken as soon as the schedule is released.

    People in the blacklist will be informed of their presence in it when attempting to book a new photoshoot or by any other way at the discretion of the photographer.

    If you are in the blacklist and you have to leave it, please contact me and we can discuss it. Let’s solve the situation professionally and with respect!

    Doing the photoshoot

    It is time for my photoshoot: what do I need to do?

    We will meet at the predetermined rendezvous point at the beginning of your time slot.

    • If you arrive late for the photoshoot at the rendezvous point, the amount of time past the expected beginning will be deduced from your 30-minute time slot, to respect the schedule of the other photoshoots and to allow the photographer to come back to the event.
    • If I arrive late for the photoshoot, then the error is on me and you will still get your 30 minutes (provided that you are there when I arrive!)

    Therefore, it is in your interest to arrive on time at the rendezvous point. Any delay from you will not cause an extension of your allotted time.

    We will then walk to the photoshoot location. It is recommended to arrive quickly at the photoshoot location (for example, not constantly stopping on the way).

    Finally, I will take pictures of your cosplay.

    • Feel free to do any pose you want!
    • If you need inspiration for poses, I can give you some tips!
    • I will not force you to make poses and I will never touch you without asking first (for adjusting a piece of cosplay, for example).

    If you want, I can then walk with you back to the event.

    Do you have assistants with you?

    I do not have assistants for photoshoots. If you need assistants for some poses (holding objects for example), you can ask for help from some of your friends. I might have some of my friends with me to help, but I cannot guarantee their presence.

    Can I bring someone to my photoshoot to keep me company?

    Yes, absolutely! If this can make you feel at ease and safe, then you are more than welcome to bring someone!

    After the photoshoot

    What will I get back from the photoshoot?

    • You will get your photos in high-quality JPG format.
    • You will also get your photos in CR2 format. The CR2 format, which is the Canon RAW proprietary format, is openable in the most recent Adobe Photoshop versions.
    • The photos (all formats) will be put on an album on a storage web site and I will give you a link to it. An e-mail address might be required to access it.
    • If it is ok with you, the photos of your shoot will be published in an album on my Facebook page. I might use highlight photos for posts on social media. You can choose to not have them published by telling me.

    Do I get all the photos taken during the photoshoot?

    Yes, you will get photos for all the poses you have taken!

    I typically take more than 1 picture for a pose and I give you the best one. Let me know if you want all the photos for a pose.

    Do you add watermarks on your photos?

    I do not add watermarks on photos.

    Do you offer photos editing and retouching services?

    I do not offer photo editing services. You can either edit the photos yourselves or ask someone else to edit the photos.

    When will I get the photos?

    Depending on my workload after an event, you should get your photos the same day or after a maximum of 1 week following the photoshoot.

    What can I do with the photos?

    You can do whatever you want! (posting on social media, making money with them, etc.). I will greatly appreciate if you can credit me for the pictures! 🙂

    I have lost the photos: can you send them to me?

    Yes, I can send you a new download link for them!

    Be aware that around 1 year after a photoshoot, only the JPEG files will be available, since I am deleting the CR2 files in order to save disk space.
